What if there were no such things as lies? Imagine a world were the truth spilled from your lips without fear; fear of hurting someone, fear of repercussion or retaliation. How freeing it would be for all parties to always hear the truth? Isn’t it lack of trust and approval that causes us to speak untruths to others? Maybe instead of saying words we think others want or need to hear we should practice tact and acceptance? When we allow fear to rule our thoughts and therefore our words we are not being authentic to ourselves or others. Our society is filled with non-acceptance and untruths. We allow it in our workplaces, our schools, our government, our commerce, and our private lives. So prevalent is it in our daily lives, we have to have laws to protect ourselves. All because we FEAR what it would mean to simply tell the truth. When in some cases, I’d say most cases, the truth is a matter of opinion or perspective and is individual to each of us. Don’t appease me with lies. Isn’t that stating you don’t trust me with your truth? Don’t decide for me what you feel is best, that is assuming that you know better than I what I believe about a situation. Maybe your truth will lead to my growth, in some aspect of my life and vice versa? It’s how we react to a truth that either hurts us or sets us free to use our own judgement. I am choosing to live without fear thus, in my own truth. And I apologize in advance to those who may not agree with my personal opinion, but I am not in charge of your feelings.
The Truth doesn’t always have to hurt…
